OUR PURPOSE
The church Jesus established and left on this earth has great purpose. We are here for a reason. The following is a simple threefold summary of what we believe our purpose is. Our purpose is to:
Glorify God: Bringing glory to God is the chief purpose to anything we do. God created us, provides for us, gave us salvation through His Son and gives us an eternal future in His presence. He alone is God and there is none else. We believe we glorify God when we love Him, give our best for Him, worship Him and serve Him. When we bring God the glory, we are fulfilling our purpose. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31 Grow In Grace: As God’s people He desires His church to grow in His grace. Growing is a part of life both physically and spiritually. Our purpose is to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, grow in our personal walk with God and grow together in unity as a church. Part of growing together is loving each other and serving others. We want to make ourselves available to help serve anyone spiritually. When we grow in grace we are fulfilling our purpose as a church. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” - 2 Peter 3:18 Give The Gospel: Christ gave a specific commission to His local church that we are here to follow. That commission is to share the message of what Jesus did for us. That message is that Jesus died for all sinners on the cross, was buried and three days later rose from the grave. All who believe, repent and trust Jesus as their own Savior from sin, will be forgiven and receive eternal life. This message is called the gospel. Our purpose is to spread it in any way we can so others may also be saved. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” - Mark 16:15 |

OUR HISTORY
Memorial Baptist Church was established in 1978 under the authority of Northwest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Memorial Baptist first began in Conroe and later moved to a location just outside Conroe in Montgomery. We believe the Lord has great things in store for this church in the future.
OUR BELIEFS
This is just a simple summary of what we as a church family believe. Our beliefs flow directly from the Bible which is the Word of God. If you would like a more detailed doctrinal statement please send us a note on the "contact us" page of our website and we will gladly send you a copy.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is verbally inspired in every word, absolutely inerrant in the original documents. We affirm the infallibility, sufficiency, and authority of Scripture. We believe the Bible to be preserved by God through the ages. We believe in the literal interpretation of the Scriptures in their grammatical and historical context.(2 Tim. 3:15-17, Psalm 12:6-7, Prov. 30:5, 1 Pet. 1:23-25, 2 Pet. 1:19-21)

God
We believe in one God, who is eternal, self-existent, infinite, and immutable. We believe He has one nature, one essence, and one substance, yet manifests Himself to man as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; I Timothy 1:17; James 1:17; I John 4:4).

God the son- Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit
We teach that the Holy Spirit is divine in person,(1 Corinthians 2:10-13)He is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son.We teach that the Holy Spirit is the supernatural and sovereign agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). The Holy Spirit also indwells, sanctifies, instructs, empowers believers for service, and seals them unto the day of redemption.

Sin And Salvation
We believe that the salvation of man, who is sinful and lost, is accomplished instantaneously and solely by the power of the Holy Spirit. He accomplishes this through the instrumentality of the Word of God when the repentant sinner – enabled by the Holy Spirit – responds in faith. This salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, on the cross, and the shedding of His blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works. All the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever.

The New Testament Church
We believe the church began with the calling out of the twelve apostles by Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. We believe the local church is God's only institution to carry out His work today. We believe that all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual Body under the leadership of Jesus Christ who is the founder and head of the church. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13) The purpose of the church is to glorify God by building its members up in the faith, by instruction of the word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances, and by advancing and communicating the gospel to the entire world.

The Last Days
We believe the Lord is coming back to earth for His church. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the unsaved unto the resurrection of eternal damnation. We believe in the Pre-Millennial return of Christ to the earth, in which he will rule for a thousand years. Following this one thousand years is the Great White Throne judgment of the unsaved and then the new Heaven and new earth will be created.
